Phil started Birkenstock Hahndorf as a side business in 2003 while working his day job as an Administration Officer in Adelaide. It was something he always wanted – run a family business and use his entrepreneurial skills towards a business he was passionate about.

The site wouldn’t be complete without some must-have features that are intuitive for customers. We added predictive search which suggests results as you type to enable users to find products more quickly.
For products that go out of stock, we included a back in stock alert to encourage customers to return to their purchase. Calls to action were made more prominent across the site to move users to the next step.
To build customer confidence when making purchase decisions, product pages were optimised to include size guides, available payment gateways, and a countdown timer to show the cutoff time for same-day dispatch.
The online store performance saw a drastic increase and Phil was thrilled with the results.
Customer orders on the site increased by 181% and total revenue was up by 140%.
The organic traffic to the site increased by 58% after launch with a 78% hike in conversions.
