In 2003, Phil launched Birkenstock Hahndorf's brick-and-mortar store as a side business while working as an administration officer. His goal was to run a family business using his entrepreneurial skills. Concerned about reliance on local tourists, he built a Shopify website for a broader reach. After a year of fairly uninspiring results online, he realised it was time to seek some ecommerce professional advice to take the store to the next level. 

We re-design Birkenstock Hahndorf's online store with an emphasis on seamless user experience and mobile responsiveness while maintaining a consistent brand message. Working closely with the team at Fresh Digital, we ensured that design changes and page structures were optimised for search to get the best results after launch. 

As part of our Growth Program, we optimised CTAs, implemented predictive search, back-in-stock notifications, and optimised product pages to include size guides, available payment gateways, and a countdown timer to show the cutoff time for same-day dispatch.

Just one month after lunch, the online store performance drastically increased, and Phil was thrilled with the results.

Total revenue was up by 140%, with a 78% hike in conversions after launch.

One year into the Growth Program, traffic to the site increased by 164%, online orders by 65% and total revenue by 58% compared to the previous year.
