Help us create a brighter future for sick babies and their families

In Australia, the heartbreaking fact is that many babies are born prematurely. Babies born before full term are susceptible to many health problems including feeding, breathing and developmental difficulties. These most vulnerable members of society are cared for in Victoria at the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (Butterfly Ward) of the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne.

”Walking the corridors of the Butterfly ward, it’s not easy, at first glance, to see where the patients are. But if you follow the tubes and wires from the ventilators and infusion pumps to the cots, they lead to the hospital’s tiniest patients, attached from most limbs to vital monitoring and breathing support to prop up organs too young yet, and too fragile, for this world.

Here lie babies too unwell and fragile to breastfeed, and who are yet to learn the instinctual mechanism of breathing, sucking and swallowing at the same time. It’s a place where big milestones are measured in millilitres, grams and the number of dirty nappies. It’s where graduation from continuous to two-hourly feeds through a spaghetti-thick tube directly into the stomach is a milestone worth celebrating as a step closer to home.”

Each year, the Peterson and Saleh family hosts their annual Christmas in July event, raising over $100,000 for charities since it began in 2014. With exquisite food, amazing wines from Levantine Hill and live music, it is a wonderful night out, raising funds for these little ones requiring extra special care. Beat the winter blues and bring your friends and colleagues along to support the Butterfly Wing and their important work.

The cause is close to The Hope Factory founder, Andrew Cox's heart, as he started life three months premature and spent the first few months of his life in an incubator. Join The Hope Factory for this very special event and contribute to this important cause.

We've been recommending Shopify to Australian ecommerce brands for years. The SEO case has always been solid: clean URL structures, automatic canonical tags, and strong Core Web Vitals performance out of the box. The foundations are there, but in the past 12 months, something bigger has happened.
